A Â pretty 1970’s empire line dress with a ruffled train and neckline. The dress has lace threaded with white ribbon as an accent around the neck, sleaves and train. A sweet dress, which is too small for my dress model.
This dress is the jewel in the crown of my collection, although this lovely old lady is far from perfect. When I bought her she was heavily rust spotted and there was/is shattering of the lining material. The sash that it once had is also missing, though for me that is unimportant (I know that is NOT exceptable to the more serious collectors). Having an example of this era means more to me than perfection.
The lace on this dress is so Beautiful, I have been told by friends that they think it may be Honiton Lace, if anyone knows if this is true please let me know.
Of course no collection would be complete without a 1980’s Vintage wedding dress, for this I include my own in the form of my wedding pictures. An Elizabethan style dress it has diamond quilting on the bodice and sleeves with a seed pearl at every point of the diamonds. The veil also has a scattering of seed pearls.
